INDUS Holding AG is a leading specialist in the acquisition and development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in German-speaking countries. The portfolio currently comprises over 40 companies based Germany, the US, Switzerland and the Nordics. The company focuses on majority shareholdings in mostly owner-managed "hidden champions" with leading niche market positions, which are assigned to the three segments Engineering, Materials Solutions and Infrastructure. In contrast to traditional private equity companies, INDUS does not pursue an exit strategy and retains the existing management of the companies after an acquisition. INDUS is therefore often perceived as a partner to German SMEs. This is also reflected in the portfolio structure: around 75% of the portfolio companies have been with INDUS for more than 10 years.
